I desire to play you.
A master craftsman may spend His life constructing and refining an instrument. Each touch of his hand is precisely planned. The craftsman’s creation is one of precision. He must craft a vessel to hold then resonate the sounds and tones that He desires to create. Every detail is planned; created to exact specifications. Created for His purpose and plans to fulfill His desires. No two instruments are ever the same; each is unique, unable to be exactly reproduced. Each instrument whether delicate or sturdy has character of it’s own; a sound unique to it, a feel and style unique to it. It will always fit perfectly into the hands of it’s creator. He alone will appreciate every intricate detail of it’s being.
You are my instrument and I desire to play you. My touch will bring you fully alive and cause you to be all you were designed and created to be. The sound you will produce will be unlike any other; you will accompany and they will become songs and sounds of hope.
Every instrument, regardless of what it is or how it’s played, requires some degree of pressure applied in order to produce a clear sound. Even wind instruments require air to be forced through them and pressure of fingers over holes or keys to produce clarity of sound. Stringed instruments require pressure to be applied to the strings to change notes and keys and to create tempo. Strings, bows and persussion instruments etc all require tension, as it is essential for clarity of sound.
Therefore this word not only encourages us about the season we are in, but clearly insinuates the conditions in which we will find ourselves . If the tension and pressure are released or opposed, then the sound produced is muffled, distorted and unpleasant to hear. It offends our senses. If pressure and tension are surrendered to and worked with, however, the sound is clear and precise and acceptable to our senses. It resonates to the very core of our being and opens us up to receive.
