“How does a deceived man, know he’s deceived?" - Jesse-John Jabore
The forthcoming Copenhagen Summit still appears to be a ‘Trojan horse’ for veiled legislation, on a global scale.
The concern has been from some quarters that it will, in reality, lay a groundwork for the control of nations though its proposals of a mandatory a)”carbon tax” and b)”carbon debt”.
a) If a nation performs above it’s emissions targets it can take it’s Carbon Tax to be in credit and can then use this, to trade with other nations who are not doing so well; essentially creating a prototype, albeit primitive, global economic system.
b) The concept of a “carbon debt”, stems from a theory that wealthier and/or industrialised countries have, historically, created the greenhouse gases and therefore all current environmental “problems”. The implication is therefore, that they should be made to pay poorer and/or developing countries vast sums of money, to pay for their sustainable development. This is essentially, however, a global redistribution of wealth. On one level it may seem fair to some, but is this not a form of communism, via an emotive cause? More than this, is it wise at the moment, considering the “other climate”, the ‘financial climate’, amongst the nations? Surely such a proposal would need the informed agreement of each nations taxpayers? However, if a picture was painted that all our futures depended on it, maybe not?
“Yes, that’s right” says Joe Bloggs, doing his bit by recycling newspapers (with headlines more concerned with Jordan and Peter Andre, than this issue), “Yes it was on the telly, the climate! …we’re all doomed if we don’t do something and we’re all doomed if the governments of the world, don’t do something”
… who told you that? Scientists? Senator Al Gore?
What if the evidence for Climate Change was exaggerated in some way?, or even (gasp of gasps) possibly false in it’s presentation and emphasis?
“What? no way!!! How can you even suggest that?” Of course… politicians never lie, or operate out of selfish ambition and scientists are always …right?
Erm… Stop and have a think about that for a moment…
The church rarely feels the environment (creation?) is a priority… seeing as eternity with Christ for each individual is it’s commission, along with the thought that Heaven and Earth will be replaced anyway, when Jesus returns soon.
With something as massive and emotive as ‘climate change’, it should concern us however, IF such a subject is wielded in the media, so as to achieve something quite different from its original argument . “Deceit”, I think is what they call that?.
Ok then, do Christians have a strong take on issues such as ‘deceit’?
Ephesians 5:11 says “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”
Whether this turns out in the end, to be a deceit or not… it is still “good practice” to discern all of the issues for yourselves, so please do so Saints.
We must be like the Bereans in’ The Book of Acts’ regarding discernment in all things. Not with cynicism or prejudiced suspicion, but because we have a LOVE FOR the truth!
In fact the Bible instructs us “to test the Spirits” to see if they are from God; it’s a command! Obeying and praying for governments and leaders aside, what is the spirit behind some of this stuff that is going through as legislation? - unchallenged - If it’s not from God, if it is setting itself up against the knowledge of God, what is the biblical mandate for Christians regarding such things?
The treatment of the “Climate change” theory, is all too reminiscent of the ongoing creation vs. evolution debate; there has been a ‘dumbing down’ of vast (and convincing) evidence found to challenge evolution theory… We all pride ourselves on thinking for ourselves, which makes for a healthy society (thinking for yourself, not pride!), but what if the bigger picture is held back to us all and facts are kept from governments who are meant to represent us? What if the scientific evidence presented was selective? This would be very “unscientific” - ironically!
Who out there has heard of “Climate-Gate”? There currently appears to be a news blackout on this issue in the main media; yet a silent, unreported battle has been going on for a week or so. E-mails were intercepted (rightly or wrongly) and circulated on the internet, from some Scientists from the UK’s East Anglia University
These scientists have been intrinsic in the gathering and presenting of evidence on which the argument for climate change hangs. They were found to be colluding to massage figures/”evidence” and omit other bits that don’t fit their argument, so as to suit the draft proposals of the Copenhagen summit; the very basis on which Governments will propose international legislation, it is alleged, is not wholly true?
This should be on the front page of every newspaper, surely!!!? Even if it is only to spark proper debate? …but it’s not?
If the “Climate-gate” evidence is true… how can our elected leaders sign up to a global treaty on a false premise. What they’re really signing for, appears to be a mechanism to form a global financial framework, in international “law”.
Another concern is that this treaty does not currently include any clause for a signatory nation to, unilaterally opt-out, once signed. If a nation then ever wanted to withdraw, the current proposal only allows this, if ALL the other nations agree? Ask yourself “how likely is that”? This is setting a precedent for the removal of national sovereignty, surely? Even some legal experts and lawyers are saying in their blogs, for a need for a debate before signing up.
At the set up of the EEC, or “Common Market”, the noises coming out of Brussels to combat scepticism, was that ‘The Treaty of Rome’ and others like it, were only meant to create a loose agreement to aid European trade between it’s nations… yet, last month we saw the voting in, of the first ever European President and European Foreign Secretary. (”The role is only to act as a chairperson” was the official caveat, tagged onto the press conference - time will tell!) Also a constitution is basically in place, in the form of the Lisbon treaty. This is a long way from the promises of Pro-Europe politicians back then that a United States of Europe was nonsense! Where is the Church here by the way? Have we really nothing to say about the apparent misleading/broken promises?
Who else is highlighting this? Who else is comparing this track record, to the Implications of the Copenhagen Treaty? How much of the world understands the lack of fair reporting or even ‘conspiracy of silence’ on this “Climate-gate” story? The main channels of media in the world, are very silent on the matter. Why?
“The experience of our times shows that the princes who have done great things are the ones who have taken little account of their promises and who have known how to addle the brains of men with their craft.” - Niccolò Machiavelli, from his 1513 book, The Prince
One of the loudest and proactive individual voices, out there, speaking against the content of the draft Copenhagen Treaty is Lord Christopher Monckton; former adviser to Margaret Thatcher; look a little closer and he’s also a Member of the Worshipful Company of Broderers, an Officer of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, a Knight of Honour and Devotion of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta… hmmm… oooookey?
In the last few days, however, “Lord” Monckton seems to be giving the “David Icke” treatment on some truth already out there i.e peppering his Public objections, by going too far in them. e.g the latest comment on the back of the Copenhagen Summit, is that the UN should be dismantled asap, etc (might not be such a bad idea - however, replaced with what?) This type of rhetoric, may have the effect of discrediting any real argument by creating an association between the true and “crackpot”. The result is both are written off.
There may be a possible ‘Hegelian’ game going on here.
“Hegelianism” is the concept that aims to create a desired outcome (politically, socially, spiritually etc) by setting up opposing views to create conflict; the conflict, regardless of cost to the innocent, then creates the desired end result. (i.e. order out of chaos). Could this happen? Is it all contrived by “someone”? It’s science fiction surely? It is possible. Not so long ago in Germany there was a major financial crisis, tensions between Nazism and Bolsheviks (two sides of the same coin) and a stream of organised propaganda. It resulted in Germany welcoming in a “saviour” called Adolf Hitler into power! All done democratically. The environment lulled people into exchanging rights and freedoms for something to take away the pain, fear and “threat”. Could you have seen this if you lived there then? Could you have imagined then, that a resulting war and holocaust such as occurred, could have even be possible? If it happened then it could happen again. I’m just advocating that, as Christians without being paranoid or fearful, we must still watch and pray and speak up with our God given voice! Lest we find ourselves caught in a trap having unwittingly agreed, by our ignorance or even silence! Do we love our lives so much, not to speak up? Even if the world does not listen, they would have been warned at least.
So Church, look at your mass produced wrist band and seriously consider, What Would Jesus Do? It takes on a whole new level now, doesn’t it?
Is there climate change? - Ok you may be convinced that there is… (Certainly in the realm of spiritual things down here, yes there is a change… but don’t fret, Jesus warned us about it).
Like creation vs. evolution, where there is serious evidence against evolution that IS NEVER ALLOWED to be taught or considered, there’s a misconception that, because someone is a ’scientist’, that makes them always correct about the environment. Uninformed politicians seem to believe this at least. Unless they are well aware (even architects of it) and therefore have an agenda to make “certain evidence” fit.
Such real issues like the environment, or terrorism or wars, play on FEAR! When people are afraid, they will sign away rights and freedoms, to make “it all go away” (like the rise of Hitler in Germany mentioned previously). A constant bombardment of fearful issues, keeps people’s discernment ‘on the ropes’ all the time. It wears one out until, you long for change… in the end any change will do, as long as someone solves “the problem”.
Remember the Y2K (year 2000) bug? The world’s computers were all going to crash, planes would fall from the sky and financial markets would go into meltdown. Our world was going to fall apart …apparently. It didn’t of course, but computer engineers made a fortune and in some parts of the US, guns and gas masks sold out. It was mainly fearful “Christians” buying them up, thinking the world was going to end. There was some laughter in the media about this fact at the time (sadly). What would Christians do with gas masks when Jesus returns, by the way?
Yes these are the last days… but do not FEAR! The Lord Jesus warned us all in advance. Also, do not let your love grow cold and keep watch for His return with expectancy and JOY… all this in the world news is EVIDENCE that Jesus Christ is right, true and coming back in glory soon. - all the pretend ‘christs’ will melt away and the whole world will see Him returning in the same way He left the disciples near Bethany, but in great glory with all heavens angels.
The only other sane voices highlighting all of this, thank the Lord, are in Australia. ABC news reports that five frontbenchers from Australia’s opposition Liberal party have resigned their portfolios rather than follow their leader Malcolm Turnbull in voting with Kevin Rudd’s Government on a new Emissions Trading Scheme. The Liberal Party is in turmoil with the resignations of five frontbenchers from their portfolios this afternoon in protest against the emissions trading scheme. Tony Abbott, Sophie Mirabella, Tony Smith and Senators Nick Minchin and Eric Abetz have all quit their portfolios because they cannot vote for the legislation. They’re obviously better informed over there and still have a free press, it seems. Pray for Australia, that this will continue, as there’ll be subtle moves to try to clamp down on this in the future …probably. Stay free and vocal, Australia! …someone has to!
So please do continue to pray, in the name of Jesus Christ, that The Lord will shine HIS light on this and the Copenhagen event and that HIS will is done as a result - and NOT the will of those that operate in darkness. Regardless of our, or your opinion, please pray that the truth of it all is shouted from the rooftops!!! Jesus said it would… so lets agree with Him, Amen? Amen!
